Claudia Castello is a Brazilian-American film editor known for her work on acclaimed films such as Creed (2015), Fruitvale Station (2013), and Prey (2022). Born in Copacabana, Brazil, she began her career as a professional bodyboarder before transitioning into filmmaking. After completing her undergraduate studies in journalism in 2002, Castello moved to the United States to learn English. During this time, she took community college courses in broadcast and film, which sparked her interest in editing. She started her editing career by assisting at a boutique commercial production company in Venice, California, where she learned Final Cut Pro and began editing short films. Castello earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of Southern California in 2011. Her early work included editing documentaries, which eventually led to her collaboration with director Ryan Coogler. She served as an editor on Coogler's Fruitvale Station (2013) and Creed (2015).
