Rémi Escoffier (sometimes spelled Rémy Escoffier) is a French mountaineer, mountain guide, and stuntman from a family where a passion for the mountains is naturally passed down. He is the brother of Éric Escoffier, with whom he shared a solid athletic background, notably in gymnastics. This physical foundation, combined with intensive climbing training, allowed them to quickly reach the highest levels of excellence, with Rémi being particularly at ease on mixed terrain, which distinguished him from his brother, who was more adept at rock climbing. In the early 1980s, Rémi distinguished himself with remarkable ascents. In April 1983, he soloed the North Couloir des Drus in eight hours, a feat that demonstrated his determination and endurance.
