Nuno Brandão (Vila Real, 1999) is a Portuguese visual artist and filmmaker that lives and works in Porto. He holds a degree in Fine Arts – Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (2017-2021) and is currently one of the resident artists at the studio of the Cultural Association – Ars Longa Vita Brevis (AL859), where he continues to develop his artistic practice and research. Among the various exhibitions he has participated in, his first solo exhibition, “Circusiana: Act I”, held in 2023 at the gallery of AL859, stands out. Designed to invite the viewer to immerse themselves in the narrative of each image, the exhibition sought to stimulate a cinematic and theatrical observation of painting—where it became necessary to “listen” to the images in order to truly observe them.
