Brian Alan DeLaney is an American composer living in Houston, Texas. Specializing in Modern Classical music, he brings his knowledge of contemporary theory and techniques to pieces written for both the concert hall and film. From an early age he has been obsessed with movies, horror in particular. He would stay up late with his mother watching classics like Nightmare on Elm Street, Deepstar Six, and Night of the Lepus. The music of Bernard Herrmann's Psycho and Jerry Goldsmith's Planet of the Apes became entrenched in his head. Joining together with a few friends in high school, Brian took his first steps toward a career in music, starting a punk rock band. The band became a catalyst for Brian's love of music.
