Richard Manwaring (born 20th century in the United Kingdom ) is a British sound engineer and record producer , who became internationally known through the production of some classic music albums by groups such as The Human League , OMD , Fischer-Z and Runrig . Richard Manwaring began his career in the early 1970s as a tape operator at Wessex and IBC Studios, later working as a sound assistant at IBC, where he learned his trade from senior engineers Damon Lyon-Shaw, Mike Claydon, and Andy Knight. His musical work ranged from large sessions with brass, strings, and rhythm sections to band-based recordings such as Status Quo . Later, he worked as an independent sound engineer, working on the mixing desk for various international music groups and solo artists.
