James "Jim" Daniel Couroux (born 11 August 2005) is a Canadian screenwriter, director, composer, musician, and horror writer. Couroux was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, and grew up in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. He moved to Oakville, Ontario to pursue film at Sheridan College in their BFTV program which he is currently enrolled. He began his first serious attempts at filmmaking during the Covid-19 pandemic with his experimental short film "Seasonal Severity" an allegory for seasonal depression inspired by his peers' bizarre and explorative work. Couroux's journey in experimental filmmaking continued for several years with projects such as "Blinking In Childhood" ultimately culminating in his award-winning short film "Playland: A Dream-O-Vision Experience" which was produced as his final project in his freshman cinematography class.
