Maxim Bessmertny (b. 24th December 1988, Russia) is a Macau based director, screenwriter and producer. He is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of The Arts with an MFA in Film Production. Maxim’s narrative short film, the noir mystery ’Tricycle Thief' was the first Macau made short film to World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014. It won the 2015 Kodak Gold Award for best short film and has played at numerous festivals worldwide. He has worked with numerous clients on commercials and advertisements including Zouk Singapore, Pacha, City of Dreams and Wynn Resorts. Maxim’s latest documentary effort is entitled Douro Boys, a documentary about the leading winemakers of Portugal and their wine revolution.
