Nick Houy, also known as Nicholas G. Houy (born June 1982), is an American film editor and producer best known for his collaborations with director Greta Gerwig, including Lady Bird (2017), Little Women (2019), and Barbie (2023). Raised in Colorado Springs and later Boulder, Colorado, he developed an early passion for filmmaking—creating Super‑8 shorts as a teenager and studying film at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he graduated in 2004 with a BFA in Film Production. Following college, he relocated to New York City. He began working in film production as a production assistant before moving into roles as a post‑production assistant. By the early 2010s, he was editing independent films such as Fairhaven(2012), Beside Still Waters (2013), and Manhattan Romance (2014). His breakthrough in prestige television came with the HBO miniseries The Night Of (2016), for which he won the 2017 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Single‑Camera Picture Editing for a Limited Series or Movie.
