Nick Houy (Editing)

Nick Houy, also known as Nicholas G. Houy (born June 1982), is an American film editor and producer best known for his collaborations with director Greta Gerwig, including Lady Bird (2017), Little Women (2019), and Barbie (2023). Raised in Colorado Springs and later Boulder, Colorado, he developed an early passion for filmmaking—creating Super‑8 shorts as a teenager and studying film at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he graduated in 2004 with a BFA in Film Production. Following college, he relocated to New York City. He began working in film production as a production assistant before moving into roles as a post‑production assistant. By the early 2010s, he was editing independent films such as Fairhaven(2012), Beside Still Waters (2013), and Manhattan Romance (2014).
