Carla Hool is a Mexican-born casting director with over two decades of experience in both U.S. and Latin American film and television. Raised in Mexico City and from a lineage deeply rooted in entertainment—her grandmother was the Mexican Golden Age actress and dancer Constanza Hool, and her father is producer Conrad Hool—she was exposed to film production from an early age. She developed a passion for casting early in her career. She first worked supervising casting under her father’s guidance, and one of her earliest international credits came with Man on Fire (2004), co-produced by her father. Two years later, she earned her first standalone U.S. casting credit on Apocalypto (2006). After moving to Los Angeles around 2007, she continued to expand her career internationally, taking on a wide variety of casting projects while advocating for authentic representation of Latino talent.
