Emma Watts is a British-born film executive and producer who has held prominent roles at major Hollywood studios. She began her career at 20th Century Fox in 1998 as a creative executive and, over the next decade, rose through the ranks to become President of Production in 2009. In February 2017, she was elevated to Vice Chairman of Fox Film. During her tenure at Fox, she oversaw the studio’s production slate, including high-profile franchises and original films such as The Martian (2015), directed by Ridley Scott; Logan (2017); Deadpool (2016); and Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). She also worked on reviving key franchises such as Night at the Museum, Planet of the Apes, and X-Men. With the acquisition of Fox by The Walt Disney Company in 2019, Watts oversaw the transition to the newly branded 20th Century Studios but announced her resignation in January 2020.
