Decent Shark flick with Casper Van Dien and Ernie Hudson, shot on the South African coast

An American shark expert is assigned to a South African coastal town where he discovers a colleague is dead and a rival has been conducting unethical experiments with sharks & people to find a cure for cancer.

“Shark Attack” (1999) is a decent Grade B shark flick made for TV. It has a noble protagonist (Casper Van Dien), a lovely & intelligent babe (Jenny McShane), a fun sidekick (Tony Caprari), quality questionable characters (Bentley Mitchum and Ernie Hudson), outstanding South African locations, a plot that deviates from the typical “Jaws” imitation and lots of action, particularly in the last act.

The film runs 1 hour, 35 minutes and was shot at Port Alfred, South Africa.
