If you are in any way keen on a virtuoso piano performance, then this film certainly has something for you. The opening ten minutes features Chopin's "Heroic Polonaise" followed by a rousing rendition of Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody" before an audience of old and young, rich and poor who are all captivated by Mr. Paderewski's masterful efforts. Sadly the thing then turns into a rather flat melodrama as he and two colleagues have to make a forced landing near a castle belonging to ardent fan "Baroness Lindenborg" (Marie Tempest). Accompanying them on their ill fated flight is the distinctly dodgy charmer Eric Porter ("de la Costa") who sets his eye on her grand-daughter "Ingrid" (Barbara Greene) much to the chagrin of her local beefcake admirer "Eric" (Charles Farrell). Luckily, the charming Mr Paderewski is on hand with Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" to bring everyone to their senses.
