The animators have used some effectively simple line drawings to illustrate the depression faced by an old lady whose life is just one long cycle of repetition. Her husband comes and goes without a word, a young lad watches the television and she looks longingly out of the window. Suicidal, she espies a caged bird across the street and that gives her an idea. Deftly aiming a paper aeroplane at the cage, she manages to give the bird what she knows she can never have - but at least she can dream. The scoring is a little too soporific, but there is still quite a lot of understated drama and some intense imagery here to engagingly pass six minutes.
