Description
The painting has the subtitle "Princess M. Tenisheva", and tells about what it was like for Maria Klavdievna to create an art center in Talashkino, Smolensk province, the main goal of which was both the revival of national applied art and the formation of the "Russian Art Nouveau" style. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Center brought together many prominent Russian artists, musicians, and sculptors. The names of Roerich, Serov, Malyutin, Vrubel, Repin, Trubetskoy, Korovin, Prakhov and many others are associated with Talashkino.
